Rumor has it this was given to a young actress in Hollywood by a lovestruck young admirer. As she
was already "engaged to be engaged" to a popular handsome actor, she hid the compact until she could
donate it to a small charity thrift shop in Hollywood. The shopkeeper loved the compact and purchased it for
herself. She kept it on her dressing table, admiring it daily but never using it. She wrote a note of how she
came to own it, and put it inside the box but did not tell the young actress' name. After her death it was passed
down through family until finally ending up in an estate sale. Unfortunately the note has been lost but the
story has been passed down...
