    VINTAGE  BLUE STAR COMPACT ~ HALLMARKED MELISSA ~ ENGLAND
    The lid of the compact is Admiral blue (think it is plastic) inscribed with a gold star figure.  Love the scallops on the corners of this one, very classy design of the case.  The golden metal is beautifully finished nice quality.  The inside of the lid is marked Made In MELISSA England.  The bottom is finished in a checkered pattern with step down on those corners.  The closure is firm.  The puff is well used, the sifter is in place with a bit of powder there.  The mirror is very good.  Size is 3 x 3 inches x 1/2 inch.
