1950s VINTAGE VOLUPTE' COMPACT Vibrant and alive with color this is wonderful. The enameled compact features brightly painted, exotic animals. There are elephants, peacocks, gazelles,  a tiger, phoenix birds and other small birds resting in jungle type foliage bordered with a dark blue enamel design it’s quite heavy. The compact has a framed mirror, fully intact When you lift the inside latch you will be delighted to find the powder chamber contains some powder and the puff . Hinges and clasps work fine signed Volupte' USA inside. light rub wear on the outside due to age. As seen in "Compacts & Smoking Accessories" by Roseann Ettinger.
This gorgeous vintage compact is signed Volupte. Made of brass with a very detailed painted enamel Jungle design, this piece is stunning. The front and back covers are an exotic East Indian, Persian or African inspired pattern made up of tigers antelope, elephants and birds all surrounded by scrolling leaves and vines. The interior is shiny brass with a covered powder well in the base signed VOLUPTE! Inside the now mostly mostly empty powder well is the original powder puff with the Volupte signature!
