1950s KIGU for Liberty of London round gold tone souvenir ornate compact in the original pouch and original box with poem on the lid. The lid shows multiple symbols of the Liberty Clock, St. George and the Dragon. The painting is done by a process called Transfer Print. The inside has never been used and everything is new. There is a mirror and the powder compartment with a note that it can be used with either solid or loose powder for which there is a powder screen. The powder puff is labeled "KIGU". The rim of the inside of the lid is stamped "KIGU Made in England". The back of this compact has concentric rings of an ornate pattern. The founder of the KIGU company was Gustav Kirshek, a Hungarian son of a goldsmith. When he moved to London in 1939, he founded thecompany KIGU - which is a combination of letters from his name. This compact was marketed by the department store, Liberty of London that is located under the Liberty Clock in London.
